Born in Providence, he was a long time resident of Fall River. A graduate of the University of Rhode Island, he continued his education at Episcopal Theological School and completed his education, receiving his PHD in Phycology from Boston University. He went on to a fulfilling career as a Phycologist for many years.
Richard enjoyed his time attending many theater performances, and biking. He was a proud member of the LGBT Community.
He is survived by his siblings, Rebecca Mangus and her husband Richard of Hudson, MA and Nicholas Waterman and his wife Eleanor of Scituate, MA; one niece, Jennifer Alden; and two nephews, Dereck and Christopher Mangus.
A Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 11:00 AM in Grace Church, 300 Westminster St, Providence. Relatives and friends invited. Burial will follow in Warren South Cemetery, 39 Sowamsett Ave, Warren. Visitation will be held prior to the Funeral Service from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM in Grace Church.
