

Roger Jacques, age 67, of Fall River, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2016, peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Denise E. (Salpietro) Jacques to whom he has been married for the past 47years.
Born in Campbellton, New Brunswick, Canada, a son of the late Peter and Monique (Wyouche) Jacques, he immigrated to the United States in 1967 settling in Fall River.
A Welder and Iron Worker, he worked at Bethlehem Steel, Blount Marine, and Acme Neville before operating his own business, Affordable Welding. He most recently worked at Spectrum Lighting.
Roger enjoyed working on his MG Midget, going to the beach, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren who he adored.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son; Rodney Jacques and his wife Maria Santini of Barrington, RI, two grandchildren; Santina and Luciano Jacques, one sister; Dolores Basque, three brothers; Matthew, Henry, and Clyde Jacques all of Canada, and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Walter, Marcel, and Ronnie Jacques.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at St. Annes Hospital, especially the nurses and staff on the Saint Catherine, Sacred Heart and St. Dominic's unit. They would also like to sincerely thank the doctors and staff at Hudner Oncology for all the great care Roger received.
His Funeral will be held on Friday, September 9, 2016 at 9:00AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM in Holy Name Church, 709 Hanover St., Fall River. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 4 to 8PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in his honor may be made to Sister Marie Poussepin Fund c/o St. Anne’s Hospital, 795 Middle St, Fall River, MA 02721.
