Rui M. Brito

September 8, 1972April 23, 2021

Rui M. Brito, age 48, of Fall River, passed away on Friday, April 23, 2021 at Hope Hospice in Providence, RI. He was the husband of Isabel (Silva) Brito, to whom he had been married 16 years.

Born in Angola, Portugal, he was the son of Faustino M. Brito and Clemencia (Pereira) Brito.

Rui was a proud Veteran of the United States Army for 22 years and had worked as a Recruiter for the last 10. In his youth, he enjoyed playing soccer.

Besides his devoted wife and parents, he is survived by his children, Rehanna and Rui Brito both of Fall River; 6 siblings, Antonio J. Brito and his wife Anna of Fall River, Geraldo P. Brito and his wife Ernie of Fall River, Paula C. Pratas and her husband Norman of Wareham, Claudio V. Brito and his wife Nicole of Somerset, Carla A. Riveira and her husband Edgar of Virginia and Michael Brito and his fiancé Stephanie of Freetown as well as many nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at 9:00 AM from Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St. Fall River, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in Espirito Santo Church, 311 Alden St, Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 26, 2021 from 5:00-8:00 PM. Due to current occupancy restrictions, please be mindful that guests may have to wait outside while others pay their respects. Burial will be held in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.

He was a great gentleman and a friend of our favorite Portuguese soccer team Sporting. So sorry he has left us to join GOD in heaven now. I will miss my friend and our discussions about our soccer team. My he Rest In Peace and forevermore in our hearts.
