Ruth V. Boff

Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Thomas and Loretta (Desmond) Comiskey, she had been a lifelong resident of the city.

A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, class of 1940, she worked at the former Kerr Thread in Fall River where she met her husband Herb. She also worked at the former Union Hospital in the billing department with the merger of Truesdale Hospital and renaming to Charlton Memorial Hospital. In 1966 she was selected as billing clerk responsible for the processing of Medicare claims.

She was a communicant of the former St. Williams Church where she was a charter member of their Women’s Guild and a member of the bowling league. She was a communicant of Holy Trinity Church and was a member of their Women’s Guild. She was an avid Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. She enjoyed reading and especially loved the beach and ocean.

She is survived by one daughter; Carolyn J. Boff of Fall River, one son; Michael W. Boff and his wife Susan McMann of North Dighton, five grandsons; Kristopher M. Boff and his wife Rebecca of North Providence, Kolby W. and Kory M. Boff both of North Dighton, Kerry W. Boff and his girlfriend Amanda of Fall River, and Karney M. Boff of North Dighton, and several nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late John, Thomas, and Leonard Comiskey, Margaret Levesque, Edna Bolger, and Helene McKnight.

Her Funeral will be held Friday, July 20, 2012 at 10:00AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at CHERRY PLACE 178 Winter St. Fall River followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00AM in Holy Trinity Church 951 Stafford Rd. Fall River. Visiting hours Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00PM. Contributions in her honor may be made to the American Lung Association 460 Totten Pond Rd. Suite 400 Waltham, MA 02451. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
