Shirley M. Horgan

Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Christopher Ibbotson and Edith (Wood) Ibbotson Hindle, she was a lifelong resident of Tiverton, RI. A 1942 graduate of BMC Durfee High School, she was a member of the former Primitive Methodist Church and its “Gleaners Club” in Tiverton.

A homemaker, she was a member of the former Tiverton Fire Department Auxiliary, the Senior Center and its Knitters and Quilters Club and a member of the Sakonnet Club.

Surviving: daughters: Arline A. Bouchard of Tiverton, Susan D. Chase and her husband George of Little Compton, Donna G. Collins and her husband Bradley of Portsmouth, RI, a son: David S. Horgan of Tiverton, 7 Grandchildren, 12 Great-Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog “Tiki”. She was sister of the late Robert W. and Edward C. Ibbotson.

Visiting hours Friday, September 17, 2010 from 4-7 PM in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT CHERRY PLACE, 178 Winter St. Fall River. Funeral Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 10:00 AM in No. Tiverton Baptist Church, 198 Main Road, Tiverton. Contributions in her honor may be made to Tiverton Senior Center, 207 Canonicus Street, Tiverton, RI 02878. Burial in Pocasset Hill Cemetery Tiverton.
