

Thomas M. Prisco, age 70, of Westport, formerly Bridgewater, died Sunday, April 21, 2013 at home after a long illness, surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Mary T. (McCormack) Prisco with whom he celebrated 47 years of marriage on January 8.
Father of the late Cheri Prisco and Cindi De Freitas and father-in-law of Robert “Bob” DeFreitas of Tiverton, RI , he is also the loving grandfather of Holden and Cherilyn DeFreitas.
Additionally, he leaves his brothers, Louis M. “Mickey” Prisco and his wife Florence “Fussy” of Millbrook, NY, Michael A. Prisco and his wife Nancy of Hollywood, FL and his sister, Mary Prisco Schoepf and her husband Donald of Woodstock, NY. He is also the brother of the late Caroline Prisco Marchetti and brother-in-law of the late Benjamin Marchetti of Kingston, NY.
Tom will also be missed by his best friend “Jack” Boden and much loved loyal companion “Buffy.”
Tom was born in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late Michael A. and Mary (Fasone) Prisco. He graduated from Kingston High School in 1960, attended Rochester Institute of Technology, and served in the Army National Guard reserves for six years.
Tom travelled extensively during his 27 year career as a Director in the Retail Shoe Industry, moving from Regional Sales Manager with Thom McCann in Worcester to Director of Stores for the Stride Rite Corporation in Boston.
In later years, he continued his career as an Independent Certified Financial Planner and Stock Broker for American Express, Securities America and WRP Investments, retiring in 2008.
Tom and Mary enjoyed many wonderful vacations, especially in Aruba. They also traveled often to Mexico and Bermuda. Additional trips included California, Florida, Wyoming, Montana, Vancouver, Italy and Switzerland.
An avid sports enthusiast, he was a diehard fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. He enjoyed playing golf, racquetball and basketball. He was happiest when spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and his numerous friends.
Private cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Cherry Place, 178 Winter Street, Fall River, MA.
