The family will greet visitors on Thursday, September 26 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Murphy Funeral Home in Falls Church, VA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 3515 N St. NW, Washington, DC on Friday, September 27 at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Fort Lincoln Cemetery, 3401 Bladensburg Road in Brentwood, MD.
Born in Puerto Rico on August 19, 1957, Mr. Dávila was the youngest of two boys. He was a graduate of the Colegio de San Ignacio in San Juan, Puerto Rico. At 18, he left Puerto Rico to attend Georgetown University’s School of Business and earned his BSBA in 1978. In 1984, he graduated with his Juris Doctorate from the Georgetown University Law Center. He was admitted to the Virginia, Maryland, and District of Columbia Bars, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia, and the U.S. Tax Courts.
In 1988, he graduated from the Georgetown University Law Center with his L.L.M in Taxation. He specialized his practice in Taxation, Estate Planning, Business Planning, Probate, Partnerships Law, and Limited Liability Company Law, and in 2012 was listed as ALM’s Legal Leaders Top Rated Lawyers. Mr. Dávila was a member of the AICPA, the DCICPA, the ABA, and the MSBA.
Mr. Dávila will always be remembered for his integrity, gregariousness and playful nature, kindness, faith, and especially his boisterous, joyful laughter.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Lisa (Patermaster) Dávila; his daughter, Rebecca E. Dávila, his sister-in-law Annette A. Dávila, his niece Marianna E. Dávila and her family, and his nephew, Ricardo S. Dávila. He is predeceased by his brother Ricardo J. Dávila, and his parents Ricardo G. Dávila, and Elizabeth Bloise de Davila.
