Vilma was born in 1927 in Atlantic City, New Jersey; the daughter of the late Italian immigrants Sabatino and Maria Caponi. She loved to give back to the community and she spent many years volunteering for Meals On Wheels, Christ House and Ronald McDonald House. Vilma defined happiness as family, often declaring that God gave some people money...he gave me my family.
She started working at her father’s restaurant at a young age, then became a legal secretary, was an entrepreneur with PennyRich Bras, then worked in the mortgage industry. She was a member of the Virginia of Association of Legal Secretaries and the President of the Fairfax Chapter.
Vilma is preceded in death by her husband Albert G. Fortune, Sr. and her sisters Jeanne and Elizabeth. Vilma is survived by her son Albert G. Fortune, Jr. (Nan), her daughter Ann F. Porch (Pete), and her daughter Regina F. McMullen (Roswell). Her Grandchildren Kimberley (Dan), Kelly (Mike), Trish, Laurie, Wayne, Gina (David), Megan, Dana, and Great Grandchildren Jesse, Madison, Amanda, Kaylee, Blake, Andre, Pierce and Vivian, and loving nieces and nephews.
