Agustin Tomas Iglesias

Agustin Tomas Iglesias, 69, son of Francisco and Milagros Iglesias, from Falls Church, VA passed away Saturday, May 10, 2025 at INOVA Fairfax hospital. Agustin had been in the hospital for a couple of weeks with pneumonia and on Saturday morning he went into cardiac arrest.

Agustin was born in Dominican Republic on Nov. 7, 1955. His family migrated to the United States in 1965. He is a graduate of Bishop O’Connell H.S. and attended the Northern Virginia Community College. Due to mental health issues, he was never married and mostly stayed at home under the care of his parents and family.

His final years were spent taking care of his mother and sister and despite his hardships he was known to be kind, gentle, loving and grateful. He was always thankful for even the smallest of favors. On the morning of his death, the attending nurse was so overtaken by his gratitude that after his sudden passing she cried most of the day. Such was the impact of this simple, humble and gentle soul.

Agustin’s living relatives include his mother, Milagros B. Iglesias, his sisters Angela Giannini and Maria Ida Iglesias, his brothers Anthony A. Iglesias and Miguel A. Iglesias, his aunt Enriqueta Billini and 1 nephew, 6 nieces and 1 great nephew.

Agustin’s death was preceded from the death of his beloved older brother Francisco Javier Iglesias, 1966, when Agustin was 10 years old, his loving father Francisco E. Iglesias, 1997, his aunt Clarisabel Billini, his uncle Anthony Fernandez, and his grandparents. He always held dear his many uncles, aunts and cousins who passed away.

There will be a Funeral Mass on Monday, May 19, 2025, at 10:30 am, St Philip Catholic Church, Falls Church, VA 22046.

There will be a Reception following the Mass at Miguel and Alexandra’s Home, 6809 Crossman Street, Annandale, VA 22003.
