

Amrit Kaur, age 84, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2020. She graduated with a Bachelors of Arts and a Bachelor of Education. Her dream job was to have a career in education and she made it a point to achieve this goal and did not let anything stop her. She dedicated the rest of her life to educating children starting with her children and later, her grandchildren. She never stopped teaching and we never stopped yearning for more knowledge. She was a hardworking and intelligent woman. As we celebrate her memory we know that her will lives on in us all.
She was a woman of power and strength. Her presence could be felt in any room she stepped foot in. She always carried herself with confidence and pride. She was an avid writer and very creative. She loved to draw, paint, and sing shabads. She was an editor of her college's editorial magazine. She started as a teacher and within a year was promoted to Principal. Her legacy touched many young students’ hearts and minds. People remember her for her fortitude and passion for education. She taught her children and grandchildren the meaning of resilience and how to always follow your heart and enrich your mind. She taught us to be strong and fight until your body cannot fight anymore. One's power is only as potent as one's mental resilience. This is her legacy. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Ishar Singh; Son, Ravinder Singh and his wife, Pawanprit Kaur; granddaughter Jasbir Kaur; grandson Veer Singh; Daughter, Amandeep Kaur; Daughter, Navkiran Ubhi and her husband, Amarjit Singh Ubhi; grandson, Shaan Ubhi; granddaughter, Mnreet Ubhi.
