Ana Elena Barimany, 64, passed on in her journey through life on September 2, 2014. Born to Christina Alario and Domingo Vitola in Barranquilla, Colombia and raised with her seven brothers and sisters in Mompox, she was a pure, honorable, and joyful woman. Ana was full of life and emanated joy; she infected everyone around her with happiness. She was an exemplary wife, mother, sister, and friend. Always encouraging, she worked alongside her husband for many years as a salesperson, a Spanish teacher, a parent-teacher liaison for Kilmer Middle School, and a Eucharistic Minister for her parish. Hospitable and charitable, Ana was always thinking of others and was a fabulous host. Never arrogant and always positive, smiles came easily to Ana's beautiful face. She loved to dance, sing off-key, and laugh while she talked. Ana made a big splash everywhere she went and is the centerpiece of many of the Barimany family stories. Because it came naturally to her, she taught her family by her example the meaning of unconditional, innocent love and showed her girls how to be good women. Her husband and children were the center of her world. Ana lived each moment of her life fully, excited to wake up each morning and thankful for life and the end of each day. She was brave until her last hour. Ana is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Mohamad Reza, 67, to whom she was married 43 years and her two daughters, Rachelle and Mina Elena. Ana’s visitation will be held at Murphy’s Funeral Home in Falls Church, VA on Sunday, September 7, 2014 from 2:00-6:00 a.m., and there will be a mass held in honor her at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Vienna at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 8, 2014. Flowers of all colors and types are welcome, but no red roses, please. Donations can be made in her name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital by calling 1-800-805-5856 and referencing tribute number 36550196. She will be alive and dancing in our hearts for eternity. Arrangements under the direction of Murphy Falls Church Funeral Home, Falls Church, Virginia.
