Anne Marie Emory, 65, of Stafford, Virginia, passed away after her battle with cancer on April 17th, 2018, surrounded by her family. Born August 22, 1952 in Roswell, New Mexico, to the parents of Harry and Mildred Hogan, Anne was a 1970 graduate of Brentsville District High School, Nokesville, Virginia. A career financial analyst, Anne was employed for over 47 years with, most notably, IBM and Lockheed Martin. Anne loved playing cards, spending time with family and friends, and painting ceramics. She was the proud mother of and survived by Timothy M. Short and his wife, Amber, of Spartanburg, South Carolina and Kristen L. Farina and her husband, Joseph, of Odenton, Maryland and siblings Mark Hogan and his wife Gail, Michael Hogan, Carolyn Oxley, and Cynthia Hirmer and her husband Bernard. Anne’s greatest honor was being the grandmother of seven grandchildren, Karlee (20), Noah (15), Connor (13), Jacob (11), Isabella (9), Sophia (7) and Liliana (6 mos) who all referred to their beloved grandmother as “Nana.” Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 21st, at National Funeral Home, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church from 12-2pm, with funeral service to follow at 2pm. Interment at 3:00pm at National Memorial Park.
