Tony was born in New Rochelle, New York and graduated from New Rochelle High School in 1953. He attended Bowling Green State University where he received both Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees in Education (1959). There, he met his wife of 61 years, Jaqueline. A devout Catholic, they married at Saint Thomas Moore Chapel; the Bowling Green chapel he helped to build and his “handprints are still on the ceiling.”
During Anthony’s career, he worked in Labor Relations at Ford Motor Company, Xerox, The National Housing Partnership, and was Executive Vice President of American Security Bank. He retired in 1997 and during this time wrote two books detailing his Italian upbringing in New York, which he loved so deeply.
Anthony was an outgoing, warm, and larger than life person who prided himself on passing down his values to his family. He maintained close friendships with many friends throughout his life. He was a lifelong advocate of the New Rochelle Boys and Girls Clubs and was dedicated to preserving the Italian American heritage that will be carried on by his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jacqueline; sons Mark (Loretta), John (Anita) and David (Gisele); five grandchildren, Cynthia, Joseph, Mark, Elia, Sofia and one great grandchild, Chloe; as well as a sister, Ann Marie Romano, brother-in-law to Steve Romano and Annette D’Isa, and many nieces and nephews.
