

Dr. Arthur Nachbar, of Alexandria, Virginia, passed away on January 6, 2024. He was 96 years old.
Arthur was born in New York, New York, on March 27, 1927. He married the love of his life, the former Audrey Shulman on November 23, 1960.
He was a proud World War II veteran where he served in the Army and was awarded many medals. He received a B.S. with honors from the University of Illinois; and a D.D.S. and certificate of orthodontics from the New York University College of Dentistry.
In 1963, after practicing general dentistry in New York City, Arthur opened an orthodontics practice in Trumbull, Connecticut, where he remained until his retirement in 1999. During those years he published articles in the American Journal of Orthodontics and was an adjunct professor at the New York University College of Dentistry and the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine.
Upon retirement, Arthur moved to northern Virginia where he maintained an active lifestyle and enjoyed many happy years with his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife Audrey Nachbar; children James (Jessica) Nachbar and Caroline (Marc) Goldstrom; and grandchildren Jonathan (Jordan) Goldstrom and Elizabeth (Robert) Sullivan.
Graveside funeral services will be held on January 10, 2024, 3:00 p.m. at King David Memorial Gardens, Falls Church, Virginia. The family will be observing Shiva after the funeral on Wednesday and on Thursday evening (7:00 p.m.) at the home of Caroline and Marc Goldstrom.
