She was born April 18, 1935, in Ballston, Virginia, a daughter of the late Leon & Audrey Ramey Abrahams. Growing up in Northern Virginia, Barbara developed a passion for bowling and even went on to compete in numerous leagues and national tournaments.
Barbara worked as a Manager for J.C. Penney and retired after 25 years of dedicated service. In 2005, Barbara and her partner of 50 years, Leonard moved to Murrells Inlet to be closer to family and enjoy their retirement.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her partner of 50 years, Leonard Flens; and three brothers, Donald, Wayne, and Mark Abrahams.
Barbara is survived by her daughters, Bobbi Phipps Hyder and her husband Pete, and Lisa Phipps; sister, Sandra Graves; 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A visitation will be hosted on Thursday, April 30th at 11:00AM at National Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 12:00PM at National Memorial Park.
