Barbara Ann Toureau

Born August 28th, 1948, to the loving parents of Mary and James McCauley, it was never a doubt that Barbara, or Cookie, to those who loved her most, was made to live a full life. Raised in Sharon, Pennsylvania, Barbara shared her childhood with siblings James, Michael, Andrea, and Richard McCauley.

In 1967, Barbara married, Timothy Michael Toureau, who sadly passed in 2006. They settled in Falls Church, VA, where Timothy worked as the Deputy Chief of Police, and Barbara had successful careers at both US Airways and as a hair stylist. In her free time, Barbara found a passion for gardening and creating beautiful bouquets from her ever changing and expanding selections of flowers. Virginia is also where Barbara and Timothy chose to raise their sons, Troy Michael and Neil Patrick, who she is survived by.

Though Barbara was proud of her careers and her garden, her truest passion was being a mother and a grandmother. She is also survived by her loving Daughter-In-Law, Catherine Toureau, and her five grandchildren: Jenna, Samuel, Emma, Luke, and Troy James Toureau. Her stories, passion for overdressing for the playground, and never ending support for their own dreams, will be what they remember her for. And always, for her dedication to making sure to sneak them one too many desserts.

Those who had the privilege of meeting Barbara know that you would walk away being impacted by her passion for life and celebration. To know Barbara, was to celebrate life with her; she certainly knew how to throw and be the life of a party!

The Toureau family would also like to extend a special message of gratitude and love to Gary Dion, for his many years of companionship and support of Barbara.

The family invites those who would like to celebrate the life of Barbara to the following celebrations:

A visitation for Barbara will be held Friday, December 22, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Murphy Funeral Homes, 1102 West Broad Street, Falls Church, VA 22046, followed by a funeral service from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM.
