Devoted, loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, peacefully passed away Friday, May 11, 2012. With great courage and dignity, she endured a decade of suffering with Parkinson's disease, never losing her beautiful smile or her elegant composure. At death, Bea was surrounded at her Leisure World of Maryland home by George, her beloved husband of 65 years, and her immediate family. Beatrice (Bea) was born in New York City in 1926 to Abraham and Etta Gregerman. She was a 60 year resident of Silver Spring, MD. She is survived by her younger, sister Anne (Meyer) Weisman of Columbus, Ohio; daughters, Michele (Bobby) Gordon of Potomac, MD and Joy Jacobs of Germantown, MD; two grandchildren, Allison (Jeremy) Levy of Arlington, VA and Brett (Deirdra) Gordon of Durham, NC; and four great-grandsons Ben and Nathan Gordon of Durham, NC, Adam and Brooks Levy of Arlington, VA; as well as a host of devoted relatives in both the United States and in Israel. She met her husband George in late 1945 at a USO dance in New York; she, a beautiful young woman who modeled ladies headwear and he, a young Air Force Officer returning from combat as a B-17 Navigator. They were married on May 27, 1947, beginning a wonderful romance which shall never end. Through love, companionship, encouragement, confidence and support, she was truly a "woman of valor", and the catalyst behind George's successful career as a Professional Engineer, Diplomat and Journalist. Friends had a place of great importance in Bea's life, and many were located throughout the world as a result of often accompanying her husband on foreign assignments. She considered devoted friends as one of her life's greatest gifts, and each one as a beautiful flower in her Garden of Life. Although she will be deeply missed, Bea will continue to live on within the hearts and memories of her family and friends. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, May 14 at Danzansky-Goldberg Memorial Chapels, 1091 Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD, Tel: 301-340-1400, followed by burial at King David Memorial Gardens, Falls Church, VA .Following burial, family will be receiving friends at the residence of Michele and Bobby Gordon. Shiva will continue through Wednesday evening May 16.
