

Betty Jo Mathena Peacock, 77, of Bedford, passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Donahoe Manor. She was born on December 16, 1934 in Richmond, Virginia, a daughter of the late Sydney C. and Florence M. (Dawson) Goodrich.
She is survived by the following family:

Brother:
S. Chris Goodrich married to Tina, Springfield, VA
Seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and two nieces
She was preceded in death by two son-in-laws:
Tim Martin and Bill Rininger
Mrs. Peacock was of the Baptist Faith.
She was a very dedicated and trustworthy employee for Lillard Painting Company for thirty years from 1970 until her retirement in 2000, as part of the Lillard Family Company she will be greatly missed.
Betty joined the Fraternal Order of Eagles #871, Alexandria, VA, in 1982. This is her 30th year of being an Eagle and she earned her thirty year pin. She served her Auxiliary faithfully and as Auxiliary President she accomplished a lot for Charity. She became a part of the Virginia State Auxiliary, Fraternal Order of Eagles in 1992 thru 1997 as a State Officer. She rarely missed a meeting and enjoyed traveling and making new friends. She assisted in the organizing of several new Virginia State Auxiliaries during the organizing phase and then through the Institution Ceremony.
Graveside Services and Burial will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at National Memorial Park at 10:00 A.M.
