Betty Jean Perrin

Betty Jean Perrin, a member of the “Greatest Generation” passed away peacefully on January 9, 2020 at Fairfax Hospital, VA. While she will be missed, Betty’s legacy will live on through the lives she touched as a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

The daughter of Alexander Jay and Jimmy Belle Clark, Betty was born on April 2nd, 1933 in Portland Oregon and spent her childhood living in Roseboro, and Corvallis. While attending Lewis & Clark College Betty met her future husband William Randolph Perrin. They were married at the college campus on December 19, 1951. The newlyweds eventually settled in Klamath Falls, Oregon and began to raise a family. In 1967, Bill & Betty seized new opportunities and moved the family that now included four children across the country to West Springfield, Virginia.

After settling into their new location two more children were born into the brood. Betty dedicated her life to raising their six children and was always there to help her children raise their children. She will be remembered as a person full of love, compassion, laughter, and abundant energy. Betty was always the last to go to bed and the first to rise.

In addition to her parents and husband who preceded her, Betty is survived by her children, Bill Perrin (Amber) of Kernersville NC; Bob Perrin (Jane) of Rock Hill, SC, and their children Savannah & Chase; Patty Meadows (Greg) of Fairfax VA and their children Christopher, Becky & Daniel; David Perrin (Jody Bender) of Fairfax Station VA, and their son (David William Howard) and David’s daughters Kristina & Carli and their mother Robin Iliff Perrin; Suzanne Perrin of Martinsburg WV, and her children Samantha, Emily, & Jessica; and Betty’s youngest child John Perrin of West Springfield VA. Mom, you were the best. You stayed by my side through everything. From the time I thought I was going to lose Sam and you were always by my hospital bed with a cup of Starbucks for me, to when I was sick and went through surgery. You were so selfless, and took my family in when we needed help. I will always remember our Starbucks dates- white mochas with lemon pound cakes. We did so much together like taking the girls to Kings Dominion, Burke Lake Park, and the beach. I’m grateful for all the holidays spent together with you and the girls. We will always be fond of those memories. You will be missed.
