Brian Heiney left this earth on May 5th 2026. Brian grew up in Mt. Vernon Virginia and attended Mt. Vernon High School. He graduated from the University of Virginia. Brian was the only person to “walk on” to the University of Virginia baseball team in 1978 as a pitcher. Brian went on to a career working as a government contractor involved in the financial management of Naval contracts. He was a devoted husband, father, brother and uncle who loved playing baseball, softball and golf with his many friends. He never met a stranger who he could not get along with. He had the ability to make friends easily.
He is survived by his wife Linda and his two sons, Brandon and Eric. He is survived by his sister Stephanie Mitchell, of Middletown VA, his brothers Douglas Heiney, of Midlothian VA, and Thomas Heiney, of Fredericksburg VA. He was preceded in death by his parents Harry (Dutch) Heiney and Mary Virginia Heiney and his sister Cynthia Davenport.
A funeral will be held at National Memorial Park Funeral Home in Falls Church, 7482 Lee Hwy, on May 24th between 10 am to 2 pm.
The schedule is as follows:
10 am-12pm viewing, 12 pm-1 pm story sharing, and 1 pm-2 pm burial.
