He met his wife, Albina Rojas de Jaimes, through mutual friends when they were young adults and instantly became inseparable. After 64 years of marriage, Carlos and Albina built their own traditions, daily routines, and truly embraced the vows they exchanged.
Carlos was a young entrepreneur in his home country, where he frequently traveled throughout South America. Carlos took on the role of the provider for his growing family until it was time for him to retire. He was a loving and present father and those beautiful qualities carried into his relationship with his grandchildren. He showered his grandchildren and great-grandchildren with attention and showed them endless patience. He was the proud grandfather who attended graduations and birthday parties, ensuring that he did not miss pivotal moments of his grandchildren’s lives. He was kind and affectionate, making those around him feel welcomed and comfortable. His composure, determination, life experiences, and humor were both admirable and the main reason that people were drawn to him.
Carlos has reunited with his wife, but is survived by his 5 daughters, 10 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will include some of his grandchildren and son-in-laws.
