I worked with Carol for over 25 years.  We were delighted to travel to New Jersey because we always planned a trip to New York to see a broadway play and get a delicious meal from an Italian restaurant.  Jokingly, I would alway ask if we were going to Olive Garden.  

After hours, we took classes at Buchanan Flower Shop  for years. We rented tables at local craft fairs. (We hardly made enough money to cover the cost of the table.  We just enjoyed crafting and our time together.. 

She was my go-to person when I needed to plant vegetables; directions in Arlington; when I wanted to just stroll down memory lane and updates on ammo issues last and present  and concerns though we both were retired. 

I recall calling Carol twice during the month of December. When she didn’t pick up, I just assumed her phone was not charged or I made a mistake and called her mother’s house.  

We planned to go out to lunch with our friend Maureen when it warmed up.  
I am  so sadden by her loss. Her voice is gone but her memories will linger on.

Farewell Carol, I deeply miss you. You were a great friend on mine and we traveled together every afternoon after work before our retirement from the Army Materiel Command at Ft. Belvoir, VA, I am comforted in knowing that you are in the presence of God enjoying the eternal life and the reunion with your dear mother! I am looking forward to one day we will meet again in heaven!

I have such fond memories growing up knowing Carol. As a kid, it was a treat to visit her house, she would have fun & interesting crafts, she took the time to teach me to make many things. 

After I became an adult, I spent Thurs eves with the “ceramic group” that Carol hosted for as long as I can remember. It was a privilege, fun, and we made many things. I’m sure Carol helped the  group made over 1000 trees through the years. If you showed Carol any craft, she could replicate it & teach you to make. It continued to be a treat to be part of the group for decades.  

Once I had kids, they too learned how to make ceramics & other art techniques. Carol became a special friend and fixture in their lives. She was always willing to help them with a craft, school or scout project. 

During the 18+ years that Carol volunteered with the County Fair, I admired her energy & dedication, a lot of work. After the first few years she recruited me & later my kids to help too, we all have many fond memories of working the fair during those years. 

Carol had a green thumb & knew everything about plants, flowers, trees, I tried to learn from her but never could grow anything, she would start plants & share them and even came & helped plant them. Almost any nice day when driving by her house, you could find her working in the yard, always nice to stop & say hi and see her progress with her plants or home projects. 

I was very sad to learn that she had fallen, then passed away. A few years ago, I moved away from Arl, so I hadn’t seen her for the last 2 years. The last time I saw her, was to dig up a tree (it had grown in her yard where she didn’t want it), we dug it up to bring to my house in the country. It looked like we had killed it in transport, she advised it would come out in the spring, she was right, and it bloomed this year. I will miss Carol, she was a cherished friend my whole life.
