Carol Jean Carver

In the early morning hours of Monday, September 27, 2021. Carol Jean Carver Jean Carver of Colonial Beach, VA., passed away peacefully in her sleep at Mary Washington Hospital Center, Fredericksburg, VA. She was 89.

Born to Karl D. Vass & Mary McGinnis Vass (predeceased), February 21, 1932 in Charleston, WVA. A Younger sister to Mary Louis Vass & Charles Edward Vass (both predeceased). The family moved to Washington, D.C. where she attended city schools. She worked for the CIA secretarial department then continued her career with PEPCO where she was promoted to Supervisor of the Secretarial pool. Carol retired from PEPCO in 1988 after 30 plus years of service. She married Lovel “Jack” Carver, December 31, 1952 (predeceased) by the Justice of Peace in Rockville, MD. In retirement, they lived in the Colonial Beach, VA area for 36 years. Carol enjoyed swimming, playing the piano, shopping, traveling the US, reading, and spending time with her family. She is survived by one daughter Cathryn Carver-Delgado of Gainesville, VA. Rafael Delgado, and 4 beloved grandchildren, Ciara Delgado-Castagno (Christopher), El Paso, TX; Miranda Delgado-Walters (Riley), Alexandria, VA; Raymond Delgado (Amy), Franklin, TN; and Raquel Delgado, Gainesville, VA.
