Carol Joan Kopeck

Carol was born on September 14, 1936, and married John Kopeck on January 15, 1966. Together they welcomed into their hearts 6 children and 28 grandchildren.

Carol was a member of St. John the Beloved Catholic Church in McLean, Va. She had a strong devotion to the Divine Mercy, the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. She loved to bake and sew, and teaching her granddaughters to knit and crochet. She enjoyed doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and especially enjoyed swimming. Carol loved to oil paint, but she was happiest being a home-maker, caring for and loving her husband, children and grandchildren, and her visits with them to the ocean and the Chesapeake Bay.

One of Carol’s great loves was cooking meals for the priests on Saturdays and washing/ironing the sacred linens of St. John the Beloved Church.

Survivors include her husband John, children; Christopher (Michelle) Kopeck, Alexander (Ashlea) Kopeck, Joseph Kopeck, Carol (Timothy) Herter, Mary (Timothy) McCoy, and Stephen (Shannon O’Connor) Kopeck, twenty-eight grandchildren; Christian, Magdalene, Luke, Monica, Edmund, Claudia, Martin, Jude, Gemma, Marybella, Alex Jr., Gabe, Rose, Mary, Nick, Jack, Camilla, Thomas, Rebecca, Matthew, Jonathan, Christina, Emily, Lilly, Brian, Lexie, Brody and Finley, sister Jean (Donald) Nichols and sister Janet, sister-in-law Alexandra Kopeck, and sister-in-law Sue Utz.
