Katrina had one daughter, Diana Shirley, who had three children of her own; and one brother, Harry.
Catharina was active woman till the very end. She was an avid tennis player, volunteered many years as an usher in many theaters, was a disciplined swimmer, and enjoyed playing her guitar and singing. She lived independently in her home for over 62 years- including mowing her own grass into her 90s!
She was blessed in her later years to have several neighbors that were an invaluable support system for her.

A Committal Service will be held at National Memorial Park, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042, US, on October 18, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. The family requests guest attending the service meet at the graveside in the Block T section of the park, near the fountain.
