Catherine H. Kirschbaum, of Alexandria, VA died at home on May 4, 2013, after a brief illness. She was born November 17, 1921 in Bad Koesen, Germany. Her parents were Wilhelm Schlacht and Minna Utgenannt. She married Joseph Kirschbaum in what was then West Berlin, Federal Republic of Germany in 1957 and subsequently attained US citizenship.
She is predeceased by her parents and her husband. She is also predeceased by her sister, Martha Immisch of Germany. Survivors include her niece Adelheide Seidel, great nieces Kerstin Otto and Ulrike Boller, and several great-great nieces and nephews.
Catherine had varied interests, especially architecture, antiques, and art. She leaves many good friends and loving family members on both sides of the Atlantic.
