

Chang Won Choi was born in Seoul, South Korea to Duck Man Choi and Kyu Pil Chung on February 26, 1979. He went to Thomas Jefferson High School in Annandale, VA. He graduated from Cornell University and later received a law degree from University of Chicago in 2008. After receiving his law degree, he worked a tax attorney in New York City where he met his wife, Janice. They later moved down to the Northern Virginia area in 2014 to be closer to family and eventually made tax partner.
Those who knew Chang, know that he was a kind, gentle soul who never burdened anyone and was generous in quiet and subtle ways. He was a simple guy who lived a simple life. He enjoyed good food and good wine. He was a brilliant tax lawyer, computer programmer and a voracious reader. He read the Bible numerous times from front to back. He was extremely analytical and had so many questions about the Bible, God, and the world. We know he is in Heaven right now asking God all his questions.
Chang Won Choi is preceded in death by his father Duck Man Choi and his father-in-law, Hie Sup Oh.
Chang Won Choi is survived by his loving spouse, Janice, two children Chloe and Jacob, sister, Clarice, and mother, Kyu Pil.
The family of Chang Won Choi would like to express their deep and heartfelt gratitude to every person who supported and prayed for Chang and his family during the past two years. The support and prayers were their daily bread and will be remembered forever. In lieu of flowers, Chang’s family requests that anyone who is able and willing to donate blood at their local American Red Cross or Hospital or to donate to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Blood products were vital to Chang’s treatment and life for the past two years.
Funeral services will be held at 10 am, Friday, December 23, 2022 at National Funeral Home in Falls Church, Virginia.
