Charles Calvin Baker

Charles Calvin Baker, 87, beloved husband, father, father-in-law and friend. Born Friday, December 10, 1926 in Marysville, Pennsylvania to Minzie & Mabel Baker. Passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 in Great Falls, Virginia. Charles was the founder and president of Baker Histology Lab, Inc. which prepared histological tissues and slides for NIH, AFIP, National Cancer Institutes, Universities, and other laboratories and hospitals across the world. Charles loved working with his hands and was a wonderful craftsman, creating wood carvings of airplanes and beautiful metal models of cars and airplanes. He and his wife built their own house. Charles was musically gifted and loved to play the piano, guitar, accordion, harmonica, pump organ, synthesizer. Charles is survived by his beloved wife Elena Baker; his dearly loved daughter, Carla Deniz, and son-in-law, Alban Deniz. A Visitation will be held Friday, December 13, 2013 from 11:00AM to 12:00PM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 12:00PM at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church; 1020 Springvale Road; Great Falls, Virginia 22066. A Graveside Service will follow at Arnon Chapel Cemetery 646 Walker Road; Great Falls, Virginia 22066.
