

Charles (Charlie) Robert Forrest was born July 23, 1934 in Tipler, WI; Florence County. His parents were Clinton Dewett and Maybelle O. (Harlan) Forrest. Charlie passed away in mid-May in Falls Church, VA. After High School, Charlie went into the Navy, attaining the rank of E6. He was discharged on September 6, 1977 after spending 25 years, 6 months and 15 days faithfully serving his country. Charlie earned the Navy Achievement Medal, the Good Conduct Medal (7 awards), the National Defense Service Medal and the Navy Expeditionary Medal (Cuba). On August 13, 1957, Charlie married Dorothy Cass in London, England. They had three children together: Sharon, Teena and Charles Jr. whom all reside in Australia. Charles also raised and was a father to David and Charles Callaway. Charlie is survived by two sisters: Fern Weiss, Wautoma, WI and Loretta Peck, Henderson, NV and one brother John Forrest, Fulton, IL and 15 total grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Charlie enjoyed hunting, fishing, making jewelry, going to garage sales and flea markets, meeting new people, and telling TALL TALES! Charlie had many great friends over the years who became part of his family’s life. Charlie was proceeded in death by his parents: Clinton and Maebelle, his Mom and Dad; Viola and Granville Malnory. His Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles, and his best friend and hunting buddy Lee “Dadda” A. Wallace Jr. Charlie will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at 3:00 PM.
