I worked with "Ski" for several years supporting the Director's Area (DESS).  We worked hard, but we did have a little fun now and then.  When I had a new employee, Ski introduced one of our customer reps to him as "Frank"  (without my knowledge).  A few weeks later, we had some work to coordinate with that customer.  When I asked my colleague who he coordinated with, he kept referring to "Frank."  I told him there was no "Frank" in that office and finally had him walk over and show me who he was talking about.  When we got to "Frank's" desk, Ron turned around laughing.  He knew what Ski had done and it had taken that long for us to figure it out.  10 years later, I am still in touch with Ron ("Frank") and my former colleague and we still laugh about that prank.
I fish as well and enjoyed swapping fish stories with Ski.  That is how I will always remember him.
Unfortunately, I will be unable to attend the service, but my sincere condolences to the family at this difficult time.  I will remember you all in my prayers.

So many years have passed since I knew Charlie and his family. I have memories of trips to the Outer Banks, poking fun at Big Mouth Billy Bass hanging on his wall, seeing Charlie light up when he saw a white-tailed deer casually stroll by and taking a creaky Jon Boat out on the pond. Charlie was always dependable and forthright - you knew the advice he gave you was sound. I’m grateful for the few years of influence he had in my life and pray for peace for Rita, Jennifer, Thomas and Sarah. During this trying time, please remember Revelation 21:4...”He will wipe every tear from their eyes...” Blessings to the Rakowsky family.

Mr. Rakowsky was such a wonderful friend, father, and mentor.

I remember the day the Rakowskys came to our house to introduce themselves. His oldest daughter, Jenny, immediately became my best friend as we had so much in common including our fathers' first names. We even tried out each other's churches.

When my oldest brother was deciding on selecting a career, Mr. Rakowsky mentored him.

Our families were never the same since that day we met his loving family. We thank Him and the Rakowsky family for all they did for and with our family.

very sad to read of the passing of charlie.  cj as we often called him was a delight to work with.  we worked together in the late 60s thru much of the 70s.  always dependable, if charlie said it you could bank on it.  charlie  tried very hard to teach me to bass fish, and although i did improve i could never come anywhere near his skill level.   other good memories relate to our softball teams of that era,  charlie was an excellent hitter and a cracker jack third baseman.  my condolences to the family.  rest in peace my friend.  

Mr. Ski was a bright spot in every day for me. He was the first face that I saw as I started my day and he watched to be sure that I got safely to my car each night. His kindness, willingness to just spend time chatting with me and his incredible sense of humor are deeply missed. I am holding onto my wonderful memories and remain thankful for the time that I was fortunate enough  to share with him.  I wish his beloved family peace and comfort in their cherished memories as well. I will be thinking of you all during this very difficult time.
