Charles Carl Smarr

Passed away on July 5, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Smarr was a veteran of the U.S. Army and enjoyed a career as an Air Freight Agent for the United Airlines. He worked very hard and was a loving provider to his family. In retirement he was an avid gardener and loved caring for his flowers. He would also frequently drive his beloved Camry hundreds of miles around the east coast to visit family and friends, eat lunch at a place far from home, or to see the magnificent sights his surrounding area has to offer.

Mr. Charles Carl Smarr is survived by his son, Bruce Smarr (Nancy Ryan); daughter, Gina Briscoe (Stacy Fauls); grandchildren, Jesse Deavers and Crystal Nicole Briscoe; siblings, Shirley Smarr, Joanne Hatfields and Martin (Linda) Smarr. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 56 years, Irene Mae Smarr; daughter, Sandra Michelle; and brothers, James, Luke and Harold Smarr.

A funeral service will be held at National Funeral Home, Falls Church, VA on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 12:30 p.m., with a visitation starting two hours prior.
