He was predeceased by his biological parents, Lloyd C. Taylor Sr. and our loving mother who was nearly 98 years old, Lena Mae Boyles. Also preceding him in passing; our dad who raised him, Herman Lynn Boyles, our oldest brother Lloyd C. Taylor Jr. ( Marlene ), and most recently our beautiful oldest sister Mary Ann Mitchell ( Gene Allan ).
When he was just a baby our oldest brother called him " his little chipmunk" the name 'Chip' stuck.
Headstrong and handsome was my brother. His gift of learning always amazed me. If it was broken, there was a 99% chance Bubba could fix it. He could see something done once and it would be 2nd nature to him.
He started mowing our grass in Fairfax on a riding lawn mower when he was just 6 years old. He continued to do that even after his illness got the better of him. He would work tirelessly in our yard for hours on end. He was a perfectionist to a fault when it came to his work. Marine and auto mechanics became his work of choice.
Chip's 1st auto was a little Austin Healey he begged our dad to get him.. From there a Volkswagen that ended up being the "baddest, fastest" bug in the area. Oh the stories he could tell.
Chip loved nature, his very favorite critter being the chipmunk. We had so many and Chip would have them come right up into his hands to take seeds and nuts. He loved the outdoors, the water and mountains. He spent a small season of his life as an avid camper; loving to camp especially in Front Royal Va. Those times made wonderful memories.
Later on in life our oldest brother, being a member of the Eastern Power Boat Club in Washington D.C., got Chip interested and he ended up being a member for over 35 years and held the position as measurer for most of his time there.
Chip leaves behind to mourn him; his twin sons Andrew and Daniel McGrail and their mother Elizabeth McGrail, Sister Betty Lamb ( Wilson Jr. ) and younger sister Deborah Lynn. A host of nephews and nieces, many other relatives, friends, and remarkable neighbors.
A graveside service will be held at National Memorial Cemetery in Falls Church Va. on Thursday September 18 at 2 pm .
