Christine was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her husband, Kevin Goldblatt; her stepdaughter, Sarah; her mother, Rosemary Halberstadt (nee Geiselhart); her siblings, Cheri Hefty (Scott) of Palm Coast, Florida, Peter Halberstadt, Jr. of Newton, Massachusetts, and Kathleen Henry of Arlington, Virginia; by her adored nieces and nephews, Owen, Skylar, Austin, Charlotte, and Emmett; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Peter Halberstadt, Sr.
Christine was born in Pittsburgh, PA and spent most of her childhood in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, and McMurray, Pennsylvania, where her bright spirit, intellect, and warmth were evident from an early age. A graduate of Peters Township High School, she embraced a lifelong love of learning, earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration and economics from Carnegie Mellon University, an MBA in finance and marketing from Carnegie Mellon Tepper School of Business, and a master’s degree in real estate – structured finance from Georgetown University. While at Carnegie Mellon, she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta, served as an officer of the Panhellenic Council, acted as the head orientation counselor for incoming classes, as well as taking an overall active role in campus life. Her engaging personality, compassion, and natural gift for connection fostered friendships that endured throughout her life.
These same gifts, joined with resilience and integrity, distinguished her professional life, as well. She led a remarkable career as a senior executive in the financial and real estate industries. During her years at PNC, Freddie Mac and AWS, she led innovative and transformative work, earning admiration for her vision, strategy, inclusiveness, and generous mentorship of young professionals beginning their careers. She also served on the George Mason Board of Trustees.
For all her many accomplishments, Christine’s greatest joy was found in the company of family and friends, and she was happiest when surrounded by those she loved most. She had a gift for bringing people together and creating occasions marked by warmth and laughter. An avid reader with an unending curiosity about the world, she was often immersed in learning—whether researching and planning new journeys or pursuing personal and professional growth. Christine loved to travel and was fortunate to visit 44 states and 37 countries. She spoke often of her bucket list and delighted in encouraging others to share their own dreams and aspirations. She especially enjoyed exploring wineries around the world and sharing her appreciation and knowledge of fine wine with others. She also loved to cook and to welcome family and friends into her home for both lavish celebrations and intimate dinners.
Christine’s faith, resilience, and gratitude for life remained steadfast, even in her final months. Her memory endures in cherished traditions, treasured moments, and in the many lives she touched with love, grace, and kindness. In keeping with the values she held most dear, we hope to honor Christine’s legacy by supporting the causes closest to her heart: education, opportunity, and her Catholic faith.
