Clara M. Reynolds

Clara Morris Reynolds (nee Carter), affectionately known as Nana, and Great Nana, age 93, of Annandale, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 14th, surrounded by her loving daughter, Debbie, her son-in-law, Ken, and family.

Clara was born on March 3, 1933, in Wytheville, Virginia, to Chaffin and Willie Maise Carter (nee Mills). She lived a life rooted in deep faith, contagious joy, and unwavering devotion to her family. She grew up in Wytheville and later moved to Roanoke Virginia before settling in Northern Virginia, with her first husband, Harold (Hal) Wayne Morris Sr.. Together, they built a life and family they loved. Clara worked at the Pentagon as a civilian, while Hal served in the Air Force. Later, they started a corporation, and she helped keep the books at the gas stations they owned together.

She devoted her life to her family as a loving wife and mother. She took great pride in caring for her home and family, and she found joy in the simple things that made life beautiful. While Hal sponsored the local little league baseball and football teams, Clara helped manage concessions, ordered uniforms for the players, and made uniforms for the cheerleaders. She was a gifted seamstress, making everything from bridesmaids gowns, dresses for her granddaughters, and even babydoll and Barbie clothing.

Clara had a special love for crafting, gardening, and cooking, but perhaps her greatest gift was the way she cared for others. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone she encountered feel welcomed, valued, and loved. Her home was a place of warmth and hospitality, where visitors were greeted with a genuine smile, offered something to eat or drink, and given her full attention. Her kindness, generosity, and joyful spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold (Hal) Wayne Morris Sr.; her second husband, Vernon Reynolds; her parents, Chaffin Carter and Willie Maise Parrish; her sons, Harold Wayne Jr. and William; her sisters, Hazel and Janet; her brothers, Grover and Charles; and her grandson, Justin. Clara is survived by her devoted daughter, Debbie (Ken); her beloved grandchildren, Bryan (Amy), Jenna (Josh), Eric (Brittany), Chad (Tory), Jessica (Josh), and Shana (Brian); and her precious great-grandchildren, Aiden, Audrey, Laraine, Riley, Ava, Charlotte, Violet, Pierson, Calvin, Everett, Tyrion, Liam, Sara, Brantley, Leland, and another great-grandchild on the way. She also leaves behind many other loving family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Above all, Clara treasured her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose love will continue to live on through the many lives she touched. Clara's life was a beautiful testament to faith, family, kindness, and love. She will be deeply missed, but the warmth of her smile, the joy she shared, and the love she gave so freely will remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Her impact is far and wide.

Clara’s family warmly invites all who wish to celebrate her life to join them for services on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at National Funeral Home, 7482 Lee Hwy, Falls Church, VA.

A Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, immediately followed by Funeral Services from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A Committal Service will follow from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at National Memorial Park, 7482 Lee Hwy, Falls Church, VA.
