Cristy Rocks

On Thursday, May 12, 2016, loving wife, mother, daughter and sister Elizabeth Cristy Rocks died, surrounded by her family at her home in McLean, VA. Cristy valiantly fought her battle with cancer for two years, with courage and humor, while caring – and being cared for - by all of those who loved her.

Cristy was born in Reading, PA in 1958 and attended Wyomissing Area High School before enrolling at the University of Vermont, where she earned her degree in medical technology. She spent her summers in Eagles Mere, PA, where she met her husband Tony, who lived in Washington, DC. The two were married in 1987 and in the years following welcomed their four children into the world. In addition to caring for her family, Cristy was an active member of the Women’s Golf Association, member of the Congressional Country Club ladies district golf team, and served as the Commodore of the Severn River Yacht Club.

Cristy is survived by her husband of 28 years Samuel “Tony” Rocks; her four wonderful children, Samantha, Emma, Hanna and Trevor; her parents Paul and Margaret Brass of Wyomissing, PA; and her sisters Jane Barth of Corvallis, OR, and Martha Brass Arends of London, England.
