Bridgette, Tony's going to be missed very much, by many people,especially you! He was funny, loving and caring. I thank him for being such a good father to such a sweet daughter, whom he loved dearly. I'm sorry for your loss and pain. No words can take that away. We will go on loving all the memories we had with him. We were lucky to know him. He is and will be ,very missed. I love you dearly with all my love. Mom oxox

All the memories everyone has shared are fantastic. As we all do, I have hundreds and hundreds of memories of great times with a very good man. All the people I have phoned have all said the same thing...."He was always very kind to me". That sums it up. I wonder if you are allowed to throw two balls at the same time on the lanes in heaven?

...the adventures of Cartman...48 rounds of golf in 48 days for his mom...ONLY TB...n I hope heaven is ready for a good joke...he always had a new one to tell...so many laughs...so many tears...he is a great friend n surely  missed! Love ya my brother...till we meet again!

I don't even know where to start...so many memories.  It's been non-stop since hearing the news.  Tony was always there.  School, parties, Redskins, Nats, pick up games, corn fest, cookouts, camping, the beach and did I mention parties?  There's just too much to list.  His golfing, which I only participated by riding in his cart.  Can't even count the number of concerts.  Hours of frisbee till our arms felt like falling off.  Frisbee golf.  Cheech Wizard.  Lloyd X.  All the moves, which at one time was once a year...he was there.  The miles and miles we'd walk to visit friends and the laughs along the way.  All the things that I can't say.  Some things just are meant for print.  Tony was more than a friend.  He was a Great friend.  He was just generally, a Great Man.  I will miss you old man.

The memories are so many that it is hard to share just one! My wife and I were on a scenic trip to Skyline Drive when my brakes went out in my car. One phone call and Tony dropped what he was doing and rushed out with his flat bed tow truck and rescued us. He drove 2 hours out of his way and two hours back and would accept no payment for his services! Another memory is the time that we drove out to the country to buy a sheep for a friend’s bachelor party! We crammed that stinking creature into the back seat of the car and brought it to Falls Church, where it was the lead attraction at Tony Gardiner’s pre wedding event. (No sheep were harmed, lol). He was always ready to have a good time and I don’t think I ever saw him angry the entire time I knew him. He will be missed....

Echoing the words of my good friend Rick, between the mid-'70s and early '80s, Tony Ballard was synonymous with fun. Sure, we all should have taken life a little bit more seriously back in high school and a little after, but if you're not going to have carefree good times when you're young, when are you ever going to get to do it? Back when the Washington Redskins were a good football team - yes, a very long time ago - I remember Tony calling me at about ten in the morning on three or four Sundays when the weather was absolutely wretched: "Hey, Vick, my dad doesn't want to go to the game today; you comin'?" Of course, I'll join you, with my parka, a rain poncho and an umbrella, Tony. Oh the the things we did together. The parties, the concerts, the pick-up football and softball games, those late nights at the Atlantis, no idea whatsoever how we made it home. Oh boy. Why and how we survived, I'll never know. But I'm happy I shared so many of these times with Tony Ballard. Such a kind and fun-loving soul.

Tony and I were good friends. He lived across the street from me in Mc Lean for years, and we were always hanging out together, going to rock concerts, playing football, etc.  I'll always remember him as a kind soul.   Though we went our own separate ways in our later years, I always regarded him as a dear friend. I was deeply saddened  to learn of his passing, and played one of his favorite albums [Apostrophe]  that day and sat and thought about all the crazy good times we had.  I cannot play Zappa without thinking about Tony at least once. :)   I will miss him dearly. I offer my sympathy for his family. He was by any measure, a good man.
