Dear Mr Dale,

It was a pleasure serving you for the time that was given to me. I'll have you know I've done very well for myself! As you know I married the women of my dreams. Guess what?....  Still going strong! Thanks again for letting me get the place at the Seafarer for a few nights! Blew my wife's MIND when I surprised her. Its definitely a memory my children's children will be hearing about! 

You really lead by example Mr Dale. The lasting impression you left has helped me grow and like the gentleman mentioned, you've really succeeded where not all are fortunate enough to succeed.

Dear Dave and family, I just wanted to take a moment and say how sorry I am for your loss.  I have warm memories of the times I was around you and family growing up and I hope you can find comfort in the lifetime of love you guys had and have got each other.

Joan and family,  Judy and I are so so sorry  for your loss.  David was a good friend to us.  I will always remember a camping trip to Burke Lake Park,  going to Redskins games and having many interesting discussions about politics and our mutual faith.  We will miss him.

We have struggled to find the words to express our sympathies to you, Joann, and the Dale family. Dave was a good man and we will miss him. 

Although we had only a few years to share this earthly kingdom with Dave, his charm, amiable nature, respect for people and warmth were enough to touch our lives and our hearts. Quick with a joke or a well mannered greeting to one of our family members, Dave lit up the room when he entered, or the entire street. He always seemed to be smiling and was hospitable, giving his time freely, even when we barged to the front door unannounced and interrupted his day, plus the dog inviting herself inside. And in hindsight, we simply did not do that often enough.

We will always call him friend. 

Dave, you left too soon, but we cherish the idea of spending the rest of eternity with you sharing the heavenly reward that your life has clearly earned. 

An old Indian proverb we have heard fits perfectly: when you were born you cried and the world rejoiced; live your life such that, on the day you pass, the world cries and you rejoice. 

Dave, you succeeded. 

Joann and the Dale family, if there is anything we can do to help you, at any time now or even years from now, please ask. We are there for you.
