David Allen Roper, age 65, passed away on April 17, 2026 in Strasburg, VA. Born on January 24, 1961, David was known for his sharp mind, strong opinions, and a personality that was anything but quiet. He lived life on his own terms and was, in many ways, a bit of a wild one.
David was incredibly talented with his hands and had a natural gift for mechanics. Though injuries led him to disability, he never stopped working in his own way. He was always willing to help fix a car, a truck, or anything with an engine, often stepping in when others couldn’t figure it out.
He loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting—something that was a true part of who he was.
David will be remembered for his intelligence, his grit, and his willingness to help others when it mattered. He lived a life that wasn’t always easy, but it was his, and he lived it his way.
He is survived by his loving mother, Barbara Watson; his twin brother, Robert Roper; and his two older brothers, Steve Roper and Jimmy Roper. He also leaves behind extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
The family kindly asks for privacy during this difficult time and appreciates your thoughts and prayers.
David will be remembered in the stories, memories, and moments shared by those who knew him.
