

Delphine E. Marlow (Age 99) passed away on August 3, 2024, in Alexandria, VA. Delphine was born in Waterloo, Iowa on December 6, 1924 to Thomas and Margaret Meisch. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the College of St. Teresa in Winona, Minnesota in 1946. After graduation, she taught high school math for two years prior to her wedding. She also taught summer remedial math classes to returning GIs who had not been able to pass the college entrance exam. She took pride in knowing her 3 classes scored the highest grades of all other 27 sections taking the course.
Delphine married her high school sweetheart, William H. Marlow in 1948. They relocated to the Washington, DC area where Bill taught at George Washington University until his retirement. They settled in Arlington, Va where they raised five children: William (Candice), David (Denise), Michael (Valerie), Mary (William) and Anne (Adams). Delphine was predeceased in 2011 by her devoted husband Bill after 62 years. She was also predeceased by her parents Thomas and Margaret Meisch and five siblings: Celeste, Dolores, Norbert, Rita and Thomasine. She was a devoted mother, grandmother to 12, great grandmother to 12, and aunt. She was always the happiest when with her family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 3304 N. Washington Blvd, Arlington, VA 22201 at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. Interment will follow at the National Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to Catholic Relief Services in Delphine’s name would be appreciated.
