

Died on January 5, 2015, in Annandale, VA, at home, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife Mai; sons Shaun, Arnold, Dallas, David, Lee and James; 12 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and many of the 42 Vietnamese he sponsored. He was preceded by his parents, Jonathan Owen Sr. and Lois (Riggs) Carson, and his brother, Jonathan Owen, Jr.
He was born in McPhee, CO on June 6, 1930, and grew up in Artesia, NM. He spent 30 years with the U.S. Navy: serving in Korea and Vietnam, on the USS Caliente (AO-53) and USS Truxton (CGN-35). He had a passion for architecture and old homes. He loved a good story, funny joke, dry martini and his many grandchildren. Most of all, he loved and was grateful for his wife and their life together.
Funeral mass will be at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Annandale on Saturday, January 24 at 11:00 AM. In spring, he will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery.
