He was born in Washington, DC to Donald W. Craver and Verna Mae Wheatley Craver. Don attended Falls Church High School, where he was a member of the varsity wrestling team. During his career, he worked for a number of federal contractors before finally taking a position as a senior paralegal for a contractor serving the U.S. Department of Justice. His marriage to the late Karen Christie ended in divorce.
Don had many talents, but his family and friends most enjoyed his highly developed sense of humor, his encyclopedic knowledge of rock and roll music going back to its roots in the 1940s, and his knowledge of family history.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Wayne Craver, and his mother, Verna Mae Wheatley Craver. His survivors include his brothers: John F. Craver, Brian W. Craver ("Linda Hinnov"), and Robert L. Craver, his niece Katherine Ball and his nephew Alex H. Craver.
