

Marie Brunet Danch, 84, of McLean VA, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2014 in her home. Marie was married to Gabriel Danch who preceded her in death. She is survived by her sisters Phyllis Pawl, Rita O’Rourke and Bette Hadge as well as Sisters in law Helen Brunet and Jean Brunet. Marie was the daughter the late Philip and Mildred of Somerville. She has predeceased siblings Philip, James, Mildred, Jean and Joan, and brothers-in-law Frank Wells, Richard Pawl, Francis O’Rourke and Reynolds Giorgetti. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Through her years in the DC area she also has many longtime friends that will miss her.
Marie relocated to the DC area in 1957 and began her career as a Medical Technologist. She married Gabe in 1968 and supported his efforts and endeavors in his businesses and venture. Marie also was an entrepreneur and established a specialized travel agency, Danch and Abrams, which focused on specialized tours for museums and art organizations. During the past 20 years she worked at the Woodrow Wilson House and was the key organizer in the annual Embassy Home Tour.
She was a lifelong learner, always reading and attending interesting lectures and program. A love of travel took her to many different places and she truly embraced the joy of living and that is really what matters.
Visitation is Friday, December 12, 2014 from 3-5 pm at Murphy Funeral Home, Falls Church. Funeral Mass will be at 11 am, Saturday, December 13, 2014 at St. John’s The Beloved Church in McLean.
