

Eda was born on 3/8/1935 to William and Anne Mittler in The Bronx, NY. A graduate of The Bronx High School of Science, she received her Bachelor's degree, Phi Beta Kappa, from Hunter college in 1957. In the same year, she married her beloved, Raymond Pickholtz. Eda and Raymond moved from New York to Fairfax, Virginia with their 3 children in 1972, where they spent most of their remaining years. She received her Master’s degree from George Mason University and worked as a reading tutor.
Eda had a deep curiosity about the world around her and always showed great interest in others' lives. She loved travelling the world, going to concerts, exploring museums, and going to Lifetime Learning lectures. She was an avid tap-dancer and enjoyed writing and reading poetry. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She was always generous and welcoming to extended family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Raymond Pickholtz and her son Andrew Pickholtz (Jan Larky). Her memory will be kept alive by her daughters Robin Pickholtz (Diego Wilson) and Julie Pickholtz (Christopher Harendza), and her grandchildren, Evan (Adriana Del Vecchio), Ryan (Arianna Berthold), Lia, Benjamin, Sam and Mara.
Eda will be dearly missed, but her legacy will continue to touch all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
A graveside service for Eda will be held Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at 11:00 AM at National Memorial Park/King David Memorial Gardens, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042.
