Born in Reading, PA, he was the son of the late William and Esther Polter Golden. He attended New York City Public Schools and was a graduate of New York University. He served with the U.S. Army during WWII in the European and Pacific Theaters of Operation and was the recipient of the Purple Heart. Prior to retirement he managed several local businesses including Scranton Drive-in Cleaners with his wife Agnes.
Also surviving is a daughter Andrea Weckstein and her husband, Ken, Great Falls, VA, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Caren Pomeroy.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Aug,22nd from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. in the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 East Drinker St., Dunmore. Interment services will be held Thursday at 1:00 P.M. in King David Memorial Gardens, Falls Church, VA.
