

Eileen Moran Reilly (1916-2014), was born New York City, the beloved daughter of Susan and Francis Moran and beloved wife of J. Harry Reilly (deceased). She is survived by her children, Susan Moira, James Kevin, Ellen Deidre, Katharine Grania Thomas, son-in-law Charles Darald Thomas, and grandchildren Moira Katharine, Colin Idris, Owen Llewellyn, and Evan Galen Thomas. She received her B.A. in 1937, cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Hunter College where she belonged to Kappa Delta; and her M.A. in 1949 from Columbia University in English. She was a high school English teacher in the NYCPS at Central Commercial and Port Richmond High Schools. In retirement she taught literature courses using the short story to seniors through Brandeis University National Women's Committee and the Life-long Learning Centers National Council of Jewish Women. She gave lectures and poetry readings at the South Orange-Maplewood Adult School and other groups in Essex County, NJ. She was a member of the Rosary Society and a Lector at Our Lady of Sorrows, South Orange, NJ, and a member of A Kempis. Eileen was a world traveler whose tours with her friends brought her to Europe, Russia, India, Nepal, Africa, China, South America, and Canada.
