Obituary of Emily H. Lu
Emily Lu (盧秀行), 72, of Lorton, Virginia was taken too soon from all of us on June 3, 2021. Emily was born in Taipei, Taiwan to Lu Li Hwa and Lu Youn Sheng on April 12, 1949. She was their oldest daughter in a large family of 3 daughters and 3 sons. In childhood she formed many loving memories with her grandmother and established friendships with her schoolmates that she nurtured her entire life. Her commitment to education paid off, earning her a spot in Tamkang University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 1972. She further went on to earn her second Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Tennessee in 1988. She was introduced to an American G.I. named Jerry who would become her husband in 1975. She then emigrated to the United States touching down first in Dugway, Utah and later, built a career in computer science that led her to Northern Virginia. She gave birth to her precious daughter Jenny and poured her life into co-parenting her. Emily was well-known for her generosity of spirit and insisted on providing the very best for her friends and family. She continued to pour her love and generosity into clients as an in-home caregiver for senior citizens during her golden years. In rare moments of free time, she enjoyed working in her garden tending to beautiful flowers. Emily is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. Emily is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Ball; her sisters and brothers, Angela Schwartz, Lu Shih Ping, Michael and Pichen Lu, Lu Li Liang, and Lu Li Zen; along with many nephews and nieces. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm, Wednesday September 1, 2021 at National Funeral Home.
