Eugene Robert Desaulniers

Gene was born on May 17, 1934, in Boston, Massachusetts to Albert E. Desaulniers Sr. and Alice M. Desaulniers.

He was the devoted husband of his late wife of 65 years, Georgina “Joan” Desaulniers and proud father to their children Donna Desaulniers and Eugene Desaulniers II.

Most recently a resident of The Kensington in Falls Church, Virginia, Gene and Joan lived throughout the United States, Europe, and the Middle East and traveled the world on many adventures. Gene was often fond of saying, “We had a pretty good life!”

Gene served on active duty with the United States Air Force for 26 years and was a Vietnam veteran.

He is survived by his daughter, Donna M. Desaulniers of Falls Church and son, Eugene R. Desaulniers II, of Williamsburg, Virginia. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Connor Douglas of Arlington, Virginia, and Pierce Douglas of Wyoming.

Gene was predeceased by his parents and his sisters, Lorraine Ruth Desaulniers Preskenis and Rosemary L. Desaulniers Snider, and brothers, Arthur George Desaulniers, Albert Edward Desaulniers Jr. and Francis Joseph Desaulniers.

Funeral Mass for Gene will be held on April 3, 2025 at Arlington National Cemetery Old Post Chapel.
