OBITUARY
Francisco Zamora DeVera
October 12, 1941 – January 30, 2023
IN THE CARE OF
National Funeral Home & Memorial Park
It is with great sadness that the family of Francisco Zamora DeVera announces his passing on Monday, January 30, 2023. Francisco, loving father of three children, grandfather “Lolo” to seven grandchildren entered eternal life at age 81 and is reunited with his wife, Mary.
Frank, as he was lovingly called, was born on October 12, 1941 in the Philippines to Francisca and Florentino DeVera. He proudly joined the United States Navy in 1968, was a Vietnam Veteran and retired honorably after 21 years of service. Upon his retirement from the military, he owned several successful businesses in Virginia. He and his late wife raised two daughters, Mary Jean and Julie Anne and one son, Jeffrey.
Frank lived a blessed life and every day he was alive he would happily say so with a huge smile. He showed so much pride being a Filipino and loved his home in the Philippines but he was also very patriotic and proudly wore his US Navy Vietnam Veteran hat everywhere he went and would tell stories to anyone who would listen! His experience in the Navy no doubt played an important role in his life as he learned the value of discipline, teamwork and overcoming struggles. Because of the military, he was able to make a better life for himself and his family. Frank had a passion for traveling, spoiling his grandchildren, cooking, gardening, playing mahjong and reminiscing about all of his life adventures. His constant values of faith, hard work and determination will forever be instilled in his family.
Frank will be reunited with his loving wife, his mother and father and several siblings. He is survived by his three children and their spouses; Mary Jean and John, Jeffrey and Princess, and Julie Anne and Marc, several siblings, many nieces and nephews and seven grandchildren; Alan, Ethan, Jake, Jillian, Caleb, Aila and Adam.
A visitation will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at National Funeral Home at 7483 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA and a Mass of Catholic Burial will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 10:30 am at Corpus Christi Catholic Church 41685 Corpus Christi Drive, Aldie, VA with interment and military honors to follow at National Memorial Park at 7483 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA.
