

Gary Gilbert Bush, 68, died on Friday, April 15 at his home in the city of Falls Church, Virginia. A native of Horse Cave, Kentucky, Gary graduated from Caverna High School and Western Kentucky University. An army veteran, Gary was a longtime executive with Junior Achievement, a nonprofit organization helping young people prepare for careers in the business world. He served with JA in Atlanta, Georgia; Charlotte, North Carolina; Colorado Springs; Colorado; and elsewhere. In 1994, Gary relocated to the D.C. area, where he worked with Verizon Communications until his retirement in 2012.
Gary is preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Pauline Bush, his father, Gilbert Blaine Bush, and his sister, Cheryl Ann Bush, all of Horse Cave, Kentucky. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Elizabeth Altman Bush; their son, James Joseph Bush; his daughter, Lauren Bush Petron and son-in-law David Petron of Alexandria, Virginia; daughter Natalie Diane Pannell and son-in-law Jason Pannell of Alpharetta, Georgia; grandchildren Nathanael Sherer Petron, Anna Pauline Pannell, and Natalie Claire Pannell; his sister, Brenda Lyle, of Horse Cave, Kentucky; nephew Dennis Lyle; and niece Jennifer Lyle.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at Murphy Funeral Home, 1102 West Broad Street, Falls Church, Virginia, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Tuesday, April 19.
Visitation will also be held at Winn Funeral Home in Horse Cave, Kentucky, from 4-8pm on April 29 and 9am-1pm on April 30, with the funeral service to follow immediately at 1pm on April 30.
