George Louis Hardy

George Louis Hardy, age 76, a resident of Middletown, VA (formally Gainesville, VA) passed away on July 1, 2019, after a two year battle with cancer. George was raised in Twin Mountain, WV. He was also a long time resident of Falls Church, VA where he raised his family. George was known by many for his strong work ethic. After serving four years in the Air Force, he spent over 30 years working for Unisys. During retirement, George couldn’t just sit around. He reinvented himself and trained to become a Commercial Building Inspector. After completion of training, he started his second career working for Arlington County. George was good with his hands and could fix anything. He was an avid reader and a wealth of knowledge on many subjects. George was preceded in death by both parents, Irvin and Ida Hardy. He is survived by his loving wife, Pamela; three sons, Christopher and wife Cynthia, Steven and wife Karie, and Daniel. George also leaves behind six granddaughters, Taylor, Samantha, Capri, Alyson, Katie and Kya. He is also survived by his siblings, Joanne Smith, Rachel McDonald, Nancy Carr and Charles Hardy. Visitation will start at 11:30 am, followed by the funeral service at 12:30 pm at Murphy Funeral Home located at 1102 W. Broad Street in Falls Church, VA with burial at National Memorial Park, 7482 Lee Highway in Falls Church.
